Job Description

Production Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling all manufacturing activities of the injection molding and extrusion plant. The role ensures smooth production operations, high product quality, optimum machine utilization, cost control, and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:-

1. Production Planning & Execution
Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on sales targets.
Monitor output of injection molding machines and extruder lines.
Ensure optimal utilization of raw materials, manpower, and machinery.
Minimize downtime and improve production efficiency.

2.Machine & Process Management
Supervise operations of extrusion lines, dies, molds, cooling systems, and downstream equipment.
Maintain correct process parameters such as temperature, pressure, and speed.
Coordinate with maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
Ensure quick changeovers and reduced setup time.

3.Quality Control
Ensure production meets product specifications and quality standards.
Work closely with QC team for testing of electrical pipes and molded products.
Implement corrective actions for defects, rejections, or wastage.

4.Team Management
Lead operators, supervisors, and shift staff.
Assign duties and monitor performance across shifts.
Train manpower on safety, SOPs, and machine handling.
Maintain discipline and productivity on shop floor.

5.Cost & Efficiency Control
Monitor production KPIs like output/hour, wastage %, electricity consumption, and manpower efficiency.
Reduce scrap and improve yield.
Support continuous improvement initiatives.

6.Safety & Compliance
Ensure safe operation of machines and adherence to industrial safety norms.
Implement PPE usage and safety training.
Maintain proper housekeeping and audit readiness.

7.Documentation & Reporting
Maintain production reports, machine logs, and material consumption records.
Report daily production status to management.
Coordinate with purchase and stores for raw material availability.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical, Polymer, Plastics Engineering, or related field.
Experience in PVC extrusion and injection molding operations.
Strong knowledge of molds, dies, extruders, and plastic processing.
Leadership and team management capability.
Ability to handle shift-based production environments.
Basic knowledge of production costing and efficiency analysis.

Experience Requirement
Minimum 5–10 years in plastic manufacturing, preferably electrical pipe or PVC industry.
Prior experience handling multiple extrusion lines or injection machines preferred.
