Job Description

Key Responsibilities
Assist plant heads and production managers in resolving technical machine issues across units.
Train machine operators on correct operation, setup, and troubleshooting.
Set and define machine parameters for thermoforming and sheet extrusion lines.
Ensure operators run machines at the correct, defined parameters — monitor, correct, and reinforce.
Help units diagnose and resolve recurring technical and process issues at source.
Standardise machine settings and technical best practices across the Group's units.
Support new machine setup, trials, and process optimisation as required.
Work with the Group Technical Head on wider technical department initiatives — tooling, process improvement, and technical standardisation across the Group.
Document machine parameters, technical settings, and troubleshooting guides for consistency across units.

Candidate Requirements
Hands-on technical experience with thermoforming and sheet extrusion machines (essential).
Technically sound — able to diagnose and resolve machine and process issues independently on the floor.
Strong understanding of machine parameters and their effect on product quality and output.
Ability to train and guide operators effectively.
Willingness to travel regularly across all units as a group-level technical resource.
Good communication and documentation skills.

Desirable
Diploma/degree in Plastics, Mechanical, or a related field; CIPET or equivalent an advantage.
Experience in a BRCGS / food-safety certified plant.
Exposure to tooling, mould/die setup, and process optimisation.
Working knowledge of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude) for productivity and documentation.
