Job Description

Minimize Machine breakdowns & downtime :-
Responsible for the smooth and efficient working of the plant and thus help in improving the productivity
Plan, coordinate, and direct all maintenance activities, including corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance programs, for production lines (e.g., extruders, molding machines,sealing machines, and associated utility equipment like chillers, compressors,cooling towers and DG etc).
Ensure minimum production loss due maintenance activities
Identify conventional machines with low production output / high downtime / demanding increased repair cost, ensure their upkeep and enhance their performance by changing requisite parts on regular basis

Maintain operational efficiency :-
Minimize the loss of productive time because of equipment failure & to maximize the availability of plant, equipment and machinery for productive utilization through planned maintenance
Extend useful life of the plant, machinery and other facilities by minimizing their wear and tear
Decrease the response time of attending to the sudden break downs & Reduce the machine downtime by effective techniques & study (break down & machines)

Maintenance of other Plant areas :-
100% adherance of all HSE compliances
Train staff on usage of maintenance equipments to prevent accidents
Ensure safety of all staff and workmen through regular inspection and maintenance of all equiptments in the facility like machineries, material handling devices, heat / cold generators, utilities, etc.

Cost Reduction :-
Contribute towards revenue by decreasing the operating cost (loss due to regular disruption in production cycle) and improving the quality and quantity of the product being manufactured
Proactively look for opportunities to minimize the total maintenance cost which consist:
cost of repairs, cost of preventive maintenance and inventory costs associated with spare parts/materials required for maintenance
Cost reduction plan for repair & maintenance, energy and spare

Safety of Personnel
100% adherance of all HSE compliances

Paperwork & Reports / MISs :-
Support audit queries related to maintenance by regularly updating information and files
Ensure monthly maintenance shedules are properly prepared and submitted to Management & Production staff
Ensure to keep paperwork organized, as per ISO standards and statutory requirements
Create and present MISs / Trends to Management & Production teams on:
Preventive maintenance schedule vs actual compliance
Analysis of machine wise break downs, by department and action plan
Analysis and trends on engineering consumables and action plan for better utilization
Create a daily activity log (to-do list) for maintenance department, comprising of:
Activities conducted by maintenance team department wise / machine wise
Activities conducted by maintenance team for improving utilities
Estimated time to conduct the activities & actual time taken for closure
Circulate the Maintenance activity log to concerned teams on weekly basis.

ISO Responsibilities
Inform team members about the relevance and scope of ISO standards & audit
Volunteer / appoint team member to understand and fulfill ISO related requirements for the department
Provide access to the facility, materials, processes & reports, as required by the ISO consultant
Support ISO consultants in designing & creating various process documents, audits and MISs.
Enusre strict adherence to ISO standards
Support ISO auditors in designing, planning and conducting regular audits
Determine and initiate corrective action as per the audit report
