Job Description

To lead the entire maintenance function for the Blow Molding plant by driving preventive and predictive maintenance practices, ensuring maximum uptime, optimizing resource utilization, and implementing process improvements to enhance machine reliability, safety, and energy efficiency.

Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Plant Head / Head – Operations Execellence

Key Responsibilities:
1. Machine Uptime & Technical Supervision
Ensure >95% machine uptime across all Blow Molding lines (IBM, EBM, etc.)
Lead troubleshooting of chronic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults
Ensure adherence to daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance schedules
Guide root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent solutions to reduce repeat breakdowns

2. Manpower & Team Management
Supervise and develop a team of technicians (mechanical, electrical, utility) across shifts
Schedule manpower and allocate tasks based on priority and skill matrix
Conduct periodic skill assessment and plan internal training to upskill the team

3. Planning & Documentation
Maintain machine history records, breakdown logs, and utility performance reports
Drive planning for annual maintenance shutdowns and major overhauls
Review and monitor MTTR, MTBF, and downtime analytics for continuous improvement

4. Spare Parts & Vendor Coordination
Monitor critical spares inventory and initiate procurement in advance
Liaise with OEMs and service vendors for specialized maintenance and AMC support
Ensure cost-effective repairs without compromising machine health or safety

5. Safety & Compliance
Ensure all safety protocols (LOTO, arc flash protection, safe scaffolding, etc.) are strictly followed
Ensure electrical installations, compressors, and high-pressure systems are inspected and certified per statutory norms
Support audits (ISO, customer, statutory) and documentation needs related to maintenance

Key Requirements:
Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics
Experience: 8–12 years in maintenance, including minimum 3 years in a managerial role
Industry Exposure: Blow Molding (EBM/IBM/Accumulators); exposure to mold maintenance and PLC/VFD-based systems preferred.

Skills:
Strong analytical and diagnostic capability
Hands-on knowledge of utility equipment (chillers, compressors, DGs)
Proficient in SAP/ERP for maintenance reporting and spare tracking
Team leadership and inter-department coordination
Basic understanding of lean tools like TPM, 5S, Kaizen

Shift & Working Conditions:
Day shift with availability during critical breakdowns and shutdowns
On-call availability for emergency plant support
Involves shopfloor presence, coordination with operations, and vendor follow-ups
