Job Description

Responsible for overall upkeep, preventive & breakdown maintenance of all mechanical and electrical machinery, utilities, and equipment used in the flexible packaging production lines to ensure smooth manufacturing with minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all plant machinery (blown film, printing, lamination, slitting, bag making, etc.), utilities (compressors, chillers, HVAC), and auxiliary equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns in production machinery quickly and efficiently to minimize production loss.
Maintain, repair, and optimize mechanical systems (gears, bearings, drives, etc.) and electrical/electronic systems (motors, panels, PLCs, sensors, VFDs).
Maintain proper maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and spare parts inventory. Ensure compliance with safety and statutory regulatory requirements.
Identify root causes of repeated breakdowns, propose and implement corrective/preventive actions. Recommend modifications and upgrades for improved machine reliability.
Coordinate external contractors/technicians as required.
Ensure efficient operation and regular maintenance of utilities – compressed air, chillers, water, lighting, electrical distribution panels.
Monitor critical spares, raise requisitions, coordinate with purchase department for timely procurement.
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma/ITI/B.E. in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
3+ years’ experience in maintenance within flexible packaging/manufacturing industry.
Sound knowledge of mechanical, electrical & electronic systems, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting.
Experience in maintaining flexible packaging machinery (blown film extruders, printing machines, slitters, bag makers, etc.).
Familiarity with utilities – compressors, chillers, electrical distribution.
Required Skills & Experience
Basic knowledge of PLCs, automation, electrical schematics.
Computer proficiency (MS Office, CMMS preferred).
Ability to manage vendors/contractors.
