Job Description

Carry out preventive maintenance as per schedule.
Inspect, lubricate, and maintain bearings, gearboxes, belts, chains, couplings, and drives.
Attend mechanical breakdowns promptly and minimise machine downtime.
Identify faults, replace/repair parts, and report root causes.
Maintain extruder, thermoforming machines, moulds, tools, pumps, compressors, hydraulic, pneumatic, and cooling systems.
Assist in machine installation, alignment, levelling, and shifting.
Perform fitting, drilling, grinding, cutting, basic welding, and fabrication work.
Use mechanical measuring instruments and read basic drawings.
Maintain mechanical spares, tools, lubricants, and repair records.
Complete breakdown, preventive maintenance, lubrication, and shift handover records.
Maintain workshop housekeeping and 5S standards.
Follow all safety, PPE, permit, and LOTO procedures.

Required Skills
ITI Certificate in Fitter / Mechanical Trade.
Basic knowledge of mechanical components and lubrication.
Fitting, drilling, grinding, and basic welding skills.
Knowledge of vernier caliper, micrometer, and feeler gauge.
Basic understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and vacuum systems.
Good teamwork, communication, safety awareness, and willingness to learn.

Working Conditions
Factory production environment with 12-hour rotational shifts, including work around hot/moving machinery and occasional handling of heavy parts. PPE is mandatory.

Authority
Stop machines/work in case of safety hazards.
Refuse work without proper isolation and LOTO.
Report defective tools, parts, or materials.
Request required spares, tools, and maintenance support.
Machine design or safety changes require Maintenance Incharge approval.

Food Safety & Quality
Follow GMP, SOPs, and QMS requirements.
Use approved food-grade lubricants where required.
Prevent contamination from oil, grease, metal, tools, and foreign materials.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and support audits and continuous improvement.
