Job Description

Carry out preventive maintenance of motors, control panels, contactors, relays, MCBs/MCCBs, wiring, and electrical systems.
Inspect cables, terminals, panels, and earthing for damage, loose connections, and overheating.
Check motor voltage, current, and insulation and maintain records.
Attend electrical breakdowns promptly, identify faults, and minimise downtime.
Maintain heater bands, thermocouples, temperature controllers, SSRs, sensors, VFDs, and motor starters.
Assist with machine electrical installation, wiring, and shifting.
Maintain electrical spares and use correctly rated components.
Maintain breakdown, preventive maintenance, and shift handover records.
Keep panels, tools, and work areas clean and follow 5S.
Follow electrical safety, PPE, permit, and LOTO procedures.

Required Skills
ITI Certificate in Electrician Trade.
Basic knowledge of 3-phase motors, starters, and control circuits.
Fault finding using multimeter, clamp meter, and megger.
Ability to read basic electrical wiring/control diagrams.
Knowledge of heaters, thermocouples, sensors, and temperature controllers.
Electrical safety awareness, teamwork, communication, and willingness to learn.

Working Conditions
Factory production environment with 12-hour rotational shifts, including work near electrical panels, hot machinery, and moving equipment. PPE is mandatory.

Authority
Isolate equipment and stop work in case of electrical or safety hazards.
Refuse work on live equipment without proper isolation and LOTO.
Report defective electrical components and request required spares/tools.
High-tension work, protection-setting changes, and panel modifications require authorised approval.

Food Safety & Quality
Follow GMP, SOPs, and QMS requirements.
Prevent contamination from wire cuttings, tools, screws, and other foreign materials.
Maintain proper housekeeping and remove all tools/parts after maintenance.
