We are seeking an accomplished, results-driven, and visionary professional to join our organization as the Head of Business Development & Sales – Waste Management, with a strong focus on plastic waste recycling, EPR, circular economy solutions, and sustainability- driven consulting. This senior leadership role requires an individual with more than 8 years of proven experience in business development, B2B sales, and strategic growth initiatives, preferably within the waste management, environmental services, or recycling industry. The ideal candidate will drive large-scale business expansion, build strategic partnerships,
and enhance revenue growth by leading high-impact initiatives and developing innovative, customer-centric solutions
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Business Development:
Identify, evaluate, and secure high-value business opportunities aligned with organizational growth strategy.
Develop a strong understanding of the plastic waste recycling ecosystem including EPR frameworks, recycled plastic sourcing, brand partnerships, and sustainability requirements.
Lead market intelligence activities to assess trends, regulatory changes, competitoranalysis, and customer needs across the waste management sector.
Build and manage a robust pipeline through strategic outreach, industry events, government liaison, and corporate partnerships.
Drive end-to-end deal closure including solution design, pricing, proposal creation, and commercial negotiations.
Establish long-term partnerships with recyclers, aggregators, waste processors, brand owners, and sustainability stakeholders.
2. Sales Leadership & Revenue Growth:
Design and implement scalable sales strategies to achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets.
Establish KPIs and performance metrics to track team performance and businessoutcomes.
Lead a high-performing BD & Sales team through coaching, training, and performance management.
Collaborate with marketing, operations, and technical teams to create powerful proposals, presentations, and product offerings.
Oversee CRM implementation to manage leads, forecast revenue, and track sales performance.
Strengthen customer retention through structured engagement and value-driven service delivery.
3. Consulting & Solution Development:
Provide expert advisory services to clients on EPR compliance, plastic recycling solutions, sustainability planning, and waste management strategy.
Develop data-backed consulting frameworks for clients addressing plastic waste recovery,supply chain optimization, and ESG requirements.
Ensure offerings remain innovative, competitive, and aligned with market demands and client expectations.
Build customized waste management models and technical solutions in collaboration with internal experts.
4. Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Communication:
Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
Represent the organization at industry forums, conferences, and regulatory meetings.
Communicate the company’s value proposition clearly and confidently to CXO-levelclients.
Drive collaboration between BD, Operations, Compliance, and Sustainability teams for seamless project execution.
Manage escalations, resolve issues proactively, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
5. Industry Knowledge & Compliance:
Stay updated on the latest regulations related to Plastic Waste Management Rules, EPR guidelines, CPCB norms, sustainability compliance, and government incentives.
Understand recycling supply chains, waste processing technology, and sustainability reporting requirements.
Monitor the competitive landscape and recommend continuous improvements in business strategy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Environmental Science, Waste Management, or related field.
MBA/PGDM preferred, especially in Marketing, Sustainability, or Operations Management.
Minimum 8+ years of experience in Business Development, B2B Sales, or Consulting within waste management, recycling, sustainability, plastic waste processing, or related sectors.
Proven track record of achieving revenue targets, closing large B2B deals, and scaling business operations.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
In-depth understanding of plastic waste management, recycling technologies, EPR frameworks, and sustainability-driven markets.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and client relationship management skills.
Strong analytical abilities with a strategic, data-driven approach to decision-making.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving market and regulatoryrequirements
