Job Description

Manager – Machine Design Engineering will lead the design, development, and optimization of plastic extrusion machinery, including single-screw, twin-screw, recycling, sheet, pipe, and profile extrusion systems.

This role involves managing a team of design engineers, ensuring robust machine performance, cost-effective designs, compliance with international standards, and supporting manufacturing, installation, and commissioning activities.

Reports To: Design Manager

Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering Leadership
Lead end-to-end mechanical design of plastic extrusion machines and auxiliary equipment.
Develop innovative and reliable machine concepts aligned with customer and market requirements.
Review and approve mechanical drawings, assemblies, BOMs, and technical documentation.
Ensure designs meet performance, safety, quality, and cost targets.

Team Management
Manage, mentor, and guide a team of machine design engineers and draftsmen.
Allocate projects, review progress, and ensure timely completion of design deliverables.
Support skill development and adoption of best engineering practices.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience
05 - 08 years of experience in machine design, with at least 3 years in plastic extrusion machinery.
Proven experience in leading a design team in a manufacturing environment.

Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of plastic extrusion processes and machinery.
Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or similar. SAP knowledge must
Hands-on experience with GD&T, material selection, and mechanical calculations.
Understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical interfaces.

Soft Skills
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability.
Good communication skills for internal coordination and customer interaction.
Ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines.

Preferred Attributes
Experience in sheet line, recycling extrusion, vented/degas extrusion, or high-output systems.
