Job Description

Prepare detailed product costing and commercial quotations for blow-moulded and injection-moulded plastic components.
Calculate product cost based on:
Raw material consumption and current material prices
Component weight and material yield
Blow moulding/injection moulding cycle time
Machine-hour rate
Power and utility costs
Labour and manpower
Rejection and scrap
Packaging costs
Mould/tooling costs
Factory and manufacturing overheads
Prepare costing for new products, development projects, customer RFQs and existing products.
Study customer drawings, specifications, BOMs and product requirements for accurate costing.
Calculate material consumption, process loss, runner/sprue consumption and rejection percentages wherever applicable.
Evaluate blow mould and injection mould/tooling costs, including tooling amortization/recovery.
Develop and maintain standard costing sheets and product-wise cost databases.
Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Tool Room, Quality, Engineering, Stores and Sales teams to collect accurate costing inputs.
Analyze actual vs. standard/estimated costs and identify cost variances.
Monitor changes in plastic resin prices, machine rates, labour costs, electricity, tooling and other overheads, and revise costing accordingly.
Support the Sales/Commercial team in preparing customer quotations and price negotiations.
Conduct cost reduction and value-engineering exercises to improve product profitability.
Identify opportunities for reduction in material consumption, cycle time, rejection, scrap and manufacturing overheads.
Prepare periodic costing MIS, profitability reports and variance analysis for management.
Maintain proper documentation and records of all costing and quotation activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Graduate/Diploma/Degree in Costing, Commerce, Finance, Mechanical / Production Engineering or a related field.
Hands-on experience in Plastic Blow Molding and Injection Molding costing is highly preferred.
Good understanding of plastic manufacturing processes and production operations.
Knowledge of plastic raw materials such as HDPE, LDPE, PP, PET, ABS, PC, Nylon, POM, PVC, etc.
Strong understanding of:
Material consumption & yield
Machine-hour rates
Cycle time
Mould/tooling costs
Labour costs
Power consumption
Rejection & scrap
Manufacturing overheads
Packaging costs
Ability to understand technical drawings, BOMs and product specifications.
Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas and costing models.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work independently and meet quotation/costing deadlines.
