Moulding Technician 

Since 1994

Presently working with leading manufacturer of aerosol valves and polymer actuators in the UK with 18 sites globally.

March 1994 - I joined company in and initially worked within the injection moulding department as a moulding technician mass producing aerosol valves to tight tolerances where responsibilities included ensuring products conformed to specification, dealing with non-conforming products to customer / Company procedures, problem solving tooling and quality related issues through the use of the Continuous Improvement 8 step approach and process capability studies. 



Team Leader

November 2006 - 

I progressed to my current position of Team Leader within the Bikini department. Initially I was responsible for training of new staff which was coming into the department. and now i ensure all production targets are met, attending daily production meetings  and make any recommendations to senior management through the daily meetings, ensure the quality is to the highest standards, Ensure mould services are carried out to company directives.

Achievements Include:

Total quality management trained which one of the projects was to improve the process on the actuator button which saved the company ?50000 a year.

The supervision of 8 employee?s within cellular manufacture areas including day to day planning of manufacture requirements based on agreed customer supply and demand.

Improvement to poly processing side for component spillage by obtaining tie bar covers, and inner side guards to minimise component loss which saved the company ?15000 a year.

Implementation of Ascot cellular manufacture area including mould trials and assembly validation. 

Developing operational procedures and strategies for maximum returns through equipment/tooling choice, product quality, cost saving initiatives such as scrap reduction, power saving, cycle time improvement, improved cavitation and preventative maintenance.

2001 

Represented company in Switzerland for a project which included commissioning of a multi cavity mould with downstream assembly machine and the project is still running strong.

Cover for the Assistant production manager when he was absent.
