Lignin is a bio-polymer which has structural similarity with phenol and has potential to substitute?phenol in phenolic resin manufacturing.

In the project we are developing phenolic thermoset via resole and compare the mechanical,?electrical and thermal properties with conventional phenolic to develop a product.



Super Hydrophobic Polymer:

Third Year B.Tech. Project March 2015 - April 2015

Hydrophobicity is a surface characteristic. The aim of the project is to produce cost effective

hydrophobic surfaces of plastics product to tackle the 'scaling' formed on a product.

We tried to achieve nano level roughness on the surface of PP cast film by nano clays.?We also prepared nano clays in the laboratory with 'sonicator' and developed a method to compare

the relative particle size of clays through the tyndall effect
