Academic Project:

	Completed Academic Final year project ?Nylon-abs filled composite? sponsored by ICT, Mumbai. 

Mechanical properties of ABS are excellent but thermal properties are relatively poor, so it is rarely used where we require higher thermal properties but if we require better thermal as well as mechanical properties, we can make blends of Nylon 6, ABS, and Maleated ABS as Compatibilizer and fly ash as filler.?

Different 8 batches of ABS, Maleated ABS, Nylon6 and fly ash mixtures in different proportions were prepared for compounding. Blending of above batches was done using twin screw extruders. Standard samples are prepared for quality testing (impact, tensile, VST etc.) using injection molding and compression molding



It has applications in:

Automotive component where heat resistance is necessary?

Charger and Adapter

Aircraft and aerospace?

Load bearing application



In-plant Training:?

GWRL Chinchwad, Pune for three weeks and work on the mini project: Increase in Abrasion Resistance of Ropes. In plant training I learned following things in process of making ropes:

Extrusion process

Pre-twisting of monofilament

Closing rope

Quality testing
