Plastic Raw Material Selection for Auto Components. (R&D):

Study of product requirements, DVP, benchmarking of vehicle, selects optimal raw material to meet customer functional requirements.

Defining of material engineering standards for automotive interior & exterior applications in line with product performance requirements based on OEM specific standards

RM communication to Customer to establish performance goals & objectives?

Participation in Technical design reviews for new programs as material Engg

Outlining key material property characteristics for given material & release of verified engineering material standards to the CFT as reference for regularized supplies

Bill of material creation & updation for new programs/launches.

Design experiments for testing & verification plans for new products & coordinate tests of prototype parts, perform failure modes & effect analysis?

Procurement & supplier interactions on new launches & cost effective solutions

Plastic Raw Materials Testing Methods:

Testing of raw materials as per ASTM, ISO as required by OEM?s

Handling material testing labs for development activities

Granules, Parts or Plaques level testing for Mechanical properties, Thermal properties, Chemical properties.

Knowledge of material testing equipments like FTIR, Hardness Tester, Paint related testing, MFI, Color matching



Plastic Molding Process:?

Knowledge of the molding technique like Injection moulding, Blow Molding & Compression moulding, Gas Injection molding ,Reaction injection moulding, Compression moulding, Extrusion molding



Plant (Production) Support Activities:

Coordinating Moulding trials for customer driven raw material changes or for introduction of the new Raw materials along with cross functional team.

Materials & Moulding trials for sorting quality issues.



EVA/VE & cost saving projects:

Material grades commanization for sorting inventory issues.

Existing material grades replacement with alternate grades for Cost saving.

ABS & PC ABS replacement with compatible PP grades for Cost reduction & Paint elimination

PC ABS replacement with PC ASA for Painting elimination

Project initial study for Carbon fibres reinforced plastics (Composite plastics) for weight reduction replacement with metals.
